Songs of the Rose

Music for a late summer afternoon... Accompany us on a musical journey through beauty and nature, exploring themes of love and the rose.​​ 

Featuring choral works by present-day composers Norwegian Ola Gjeilo and American Morten Lauridsen, and songs by Schumann and Fauré.  The second half moves through the liturgical music of Bruckner, Elgar, and the seldom performed American composer Amy Beach, then a journey homeward exploring songs of love, dance, and longing by Britten, Schumann and Brahms.
